:: Skem Athletic Vision ::
Woman’s football has quickly become the largest growing sport throughout the world, with more and more girls playing football from a young age. Schools and other educational institutes across the UK have begun to introduce girls football to children as young as 4, rapidly enhancing the future of the sport.
The clubs ambition is to create a professional academy environment where young players can learn and develop the skills required to compete at the highest level of this very competitive industry. Skem Athletic already play host to some of the finest young talent across the region, where major clubs like Liverpool and Everton are already showing a keen interest in a number of players.
Skem Athletic has already secured the use of its own pitch which is fully maintained by the club, they are hoping to work closely with the local authorities to continue improving the facilities which will provide girls football in Skelmersdale with the perfect platform for young players to progress within the sport.
“Skelmersdale has always been a hot bed of talent for junior football, with a number of success stories making it all the way and we as a club would like to continue and contribute to that valuable tradition.”
